Scan2PDF ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application developed by Staksoft that provides high-quality document scanning, PDF creation, OCR text recognition, PDF editing, signing, annotation, and file management tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Privacy is at the core of Scan2PDF. All document processing happens 100% on your device — we never access the content of your files.
Our Privacy Philosophy: Local-First
Unlike many other scanner apps, Scan2PDF does not upload your documents to any cloud servers for processing. Every document you scan, every PDF you create, and every OCR operation you run is processed 100% locally on your smartphone. Your files never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export them.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account Information (Optional)
Scan2PDF can be used without an account for basic features. If you choose to create an account or sign in with Google to access premium features, we collect:
- Your name and email address (from Google Sign-In or manual registration)
- Your account subscription status (free or premium)
- Authentication tokens to keep you signed in securely
This data is stored securely on our servers and is used solely to manage your account and subscription. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for marketing purposes.
B. Document Data
The documents, images, and PDFs you process within the app are stored exclusively on your device's local storage. We do not upload, access, or transmit any of your document content to our servers at any time.
C. Subscription & Purchase Data
If you purchase a Pro subscription, transaction data is processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of your subscription status through RevenueCat (our payment infrastructure provider) to verify and activate your premium access. We do not store your payment card details — all billing is handled entirely by Google Play.
D. Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage data (which features are used, app performance metrics, crash reports) via Firebase Analytics to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify you or access your documents.
2. App Permissions
To provide our services, the app requests the following permissions:

3. Data Security
Your documents are never transmitted to our servers — your files are as secure as your device. For account data, we use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We recommend using device-level security (PIN, Face ID, or Fingerprint) to protect your phone.
4. Third-Party Services
A. Google Analytics for Firebase
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as feature usage patterns, device type and OS version, app crashes, and general geographic region. Firebase does NOT collect or have access to any of your documents, photos, or OCR-extracted text.
B. Firebase Crashlytics
We use Crashlytics to detect and fix app crashes. It collects anonymized crash reports including device model, OS version, and stack traces. No document content is included in crash reports.
C. RevenueCat
RevenueCat is our subscription management infrastructure. When you purchase a Pro plan, RevenueCat receives your Google Play purchase token and your anonymized app user ID to verify and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or document content. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
D. Google Sign-In
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google's OAuth service. We do not request access to any other Google data (Drive, Gmail, Contacts, etc.).
E. Cloud Exports (User-Initiated)
The app allows you to manually export or share documents to third-party services (e.g., Google Drive, email, WhatsApp). Once you choose to share, your data is subject to the privacy policy of those respective services.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
Scan2PDF Pro is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription. All payments are processed exclusively by Google Play — we never see or store your payment card details.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Google Play → Subscriptions.
- Refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy.
- Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund any unused portion of the current period.
6. Data Deletion & User Control
You have full control over your data:
- To delete specific documents, use the Delete function within the app.
- To delete all local data, clear the app's storage in your device settings or uninstall the app.
- To delete your account and all associated server-side data (name, email, subscription status), email us at contact@staksoft.com with the subject 'Delete My Account'. We will process your request within 30 days.
- Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription — cancel via Google Play first.
7. GDPR & International Compliance
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@staksoft.com. Our legal basis for processing account and subscription data is the performance of a contract (providing the app service you requested).
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Scan2PDF is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
9. Jurisdiction & Legal Entity
Scan2PDF is developed and operated by Staksoft. Any legal inquiries related to this Privacy Policy are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
